Comments: I arrived in Vitoria in the spring of 1979 after having served in Pais Valencia. The train ride from south to north was enchanting as the landscape changed from arid to green. The biggest shock was knocking on my first door up north, and when the gentleman answered, staring at a chest instead of a face. In comparison to the Valencianos, the Vascos seemed like giants. I learned that was also true of their hearts. What great people. After 5 months in Vitoria, I was transfered to San Sebastian. What great memories of living in Casa Gure Aldapa (Ategorrieta), and picking fresh blackberries on our way into town. I married Connie Burk, a returned welfare missionary from the Mexico Monterrey Mission. We live in Avondale, AZ with our three teenage boys Jeff, Jay and Bryce. - January 6th 2002

November

Elder Craig Woller
Served: 11/1978 - 11/1980
Cities: Bilbao
E-mail: cwoller@cyberhighway.net
Comments: I served in the Barcelona mission from 1978 to 1980, under President Doxey. I spent my last six months in Bilbao. Some of my best memories of my mission come from the time I spent in Bilbao. Some of my more memorable experiences were: a trip to Guernica, being the first companionship to work in Basauri (a suburb of Bilbao), working the pancarta in the park, singing with other missionaries on Sunday night in the park, tracting (yes, in Bilbao I actually enjoyed it), well the list goes on. It was a great time for me. I am married with two children. My wife''s name is Helen, my children are Melissa (10) and Matthew (7). They are the most amazing children I have ever known. I graduated from BYU in 1984 in business, and from Portland State University in 1990 with an MBA. I now run my own business and enjoy it very much. - February 27th 2000
