Burgos is the name of both a province and the city that is its capital. It is famous for its beautiful cathedral, which claims to house the remains of El Cid, who bestowed great honor upon Burgos by being born in the city. The Old Quarter preserves beautiful medieval and Renaissance churches and palaces.
