The mission is divided into four basic regions: País Vasco, Asturias, Castilla y León, and Galicia. Three distinct languages (Spanish, Basque, and Gallego) and one major dialect (Asturiano) are spoken in the region, although Spanish is the most prominent.

Short History

In 1967 Spain passed its Religious Liberty Law, and the Church was officially recognized on 22 October 1968.

On 11 July 1970, the Spain Mission was organized, which was renamed the Spain Madrid Mission on 20 June 1974, and divided into the Spain Madrid, Spain Sevilla (Málaga) and Spain Barcelona Missions on 8 May 1976.

The Spain Bilbao Mission was organized 1 July 1987 from the Spain Madrid and Spain Barcelona Missions.
