The current capital of Galicia, Santiago's full name is Santiago de Compostela. It is located in the province of La Coruña, and is famous as the destination of European pilgrims, with legend saying that the remains of the apostle James (called "Santiago" in Spanish) can be found in a tomb in the city's cathedral. The city has many other interesting buildings, such as the Old University, the Romanesque Collegiate Church of Santa María del Sar, the Gelmírez Palace, and the magnificent Reyes Católicos Hotel.
